We'll be visiting some of the lesser known heritage sites in North Wales. There will be plenty of time for you to see the sights and surrounding areas. Evening entertainment and devotions will be available throughout the week. The following prices are inclusive of coach and guide but entrance fees may be extra. Says Brian Jones, our host for the week, "Spread over 2 separate days we will visit sites of interest, which we hope will being North Wales to life for you.
Our time will be spent discovering how they lived, loved, worshiopped, build and died in the distant and not so distant past.
We will see the hill-forts of Celtic settlers with their Druid religion; examiner their interaction with the Roman conquerors and their latter conversion to Christianity.
Medieval English kings and Welsh princes' castles dot our landscape along with cistercian monks and displays of Elizabethan welth and grandure, leading eventually to feats of Victorian engineering and the begginings of mass tourism.
No such tour of this part of North Wales would be complete without reference to teh very active part but largely unsung, part played in the war effort of WWI and WWII. From airfields, iarcrew and training camps in WWI to the 'Shadow' factories, mountain rescue, care of refugees from the cities to the HQ of the mMnistry of Food - rashoning and much much more - it is here for you to see.
